Prides Corner Farms Weekly Specials

Prides Corner Farms

Week of November 23th, 2009

Thanksgiving is upon us, as is the end of the Prides Corner Hot List season. 2009 sure went by quickly!! We want to thank you for your business this past year and look forward to helping you with all your plant needs in the spring of 2010. Don't forget...just because this is our last Hot List we'll be sending you in 2009, it doesn't mean that we have settled down for a long winter's nap!. The weather is still outstanding for planting and we still have all the plants you need in one place to finish up all those last minute landscape jobs! We can even ship them right to your job site. Keep planting until the snow flies and we'll be here to get you the plants to help you get the job done.
Remember, spring is only (120) short days away and we'll be ready for you! See you then!!

PCF Timely Tip of the Week:

Now's the time to bring those Holiday plants to your garden center and to market them as an alternative to the same old disposable trees and gifts that everyone and their brother offers. Living gifts of Spruce, Holly, Gaultheria and more are a perfect way to make your customers feel like they are doing the 'green' thing to help the environment for the Holidays. All living Holiday plants have their limitations as decorations and gifts in the house, but the aspect of what they bring back to the landscape as future enhancement and value is something you should be in the forefront of offering. A generation ago, living trees and gifts that were planted outside after the holidays or in spring were a strong, profitable sales category. While that business may be smaller these days, it is still a great way to distinguish yourself in the market and a way to make you look like the environmentally happening place to shop. Even better, when you offer your customers a holiday memory that they can see for years in their yard after the purchase, you become part of their family in a small way and certainly move up the food chain of people to shop whenever plants are on their list to buy.
